Kersey
Mata hails from Manila, Philippines and started singing
professionally after graduating from San Beda High School.
He was a member of a vocal group, Kids No More, that opened for Peabo Bryson
and Patti Austin and also performed with other famous local artists. Kersey, along with then fellow band members,
appeared on TV variety shows and the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant. Kersey studied music at the University of St.
Thomas and was also a member of Boyz Voyz , Rhythm & Boys and Playback. Kersey’s evident love of the great R&B songs of the past, his soulful feel for today’s tunes and his dynamic stage presence adds yet another exciting dimension to the Santa Cruz Band. |
