While still in high school, saxophonist Bob Harrold knew that he wanted to be a musician. He began playing professionally at the age of 15 and gained valuable musical experience during his college years at Marshall University playing Big Band Jazz. Working with seasoned musicians in the Mel Gillespie, Johnny Long and Tommy Dorsey orchestras proved both a challenge and important learning experience for the young Bobby. Later, Bob's musical career took him from Montreal to Miami before bringing him back home to West Virginia. In his travels, he shared the stage with many different musical acts including Three Dog Night, The O'Jays, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Blood Sweat and Tears, the Drifters, the Tams, the Four Tops, the Temptations and the Commodores. In addition to handling alto sax, EWI (electronic wind instrument), and vocals, Bob can completely captivate a crowd with his covers of Kenny G., taking the soprano sax to new heights of expression. < Back to Member Bios |
